The name of my project is Hyacinthum in Statera. The many focus in my project is the aerial silk dancers. I choose them because they represent calmness and gracefulness in chaos. The way their bodies move in unison with their silks, it's like the are both inevitably intertwined. The big idea is going to your place of calmness in all the chaos and in all the blue. My inspiration is Billie Eilish. She was an aerial silk dancer. I remember seeing her dance in a video and it reminded my how calm and peaceful it made me feel when there was so much chaos going on in my life. For me, I made this expressing how my mind looks when I go to my peaceful place. To create this, I took a high resolution photo of clouds and blue lapid lights with a blue spotlight. I dodged and burned them together making a blue heaven in my eye. I them found my favorite photos of aerial silk dancer. I used the quick selection tool and cut them out. The dancer on the floor had more silk cut from her photo. I wanted her to seem like she was dancing on a cloud. I wanted the rest to be hanging from the top. With the dancer on the floor, I adjusted her brightness and contrast to me her a little darker and I made her colors contrast. I then lowered her opacity to make her semi blend in with the background. I used the multiply blending mode on her. With the hanging silk dancers, I lowered their brightness and raised the contrast. I then used the blending mode luminosity on them to give them a glowing effect. I also lowered their opacity to make them blend in with the light in the middle. I then cut out the doves and lowered their brightness a little. I then used the lighten mode on the blending modes to have them stand out. I also lowered their opacity a little to have them blend. I thought something was missing so I added a picture of stars and a galaxy. I did this to give the photo a purple tint. I wanted it to seem like there was a lot going on in the background. I wanted it to look like a beautiful chaos. I blended it using the dodge and bur tool. Over the weekend I bought a bouquet of white roses. I them dyed them using blue food coloring, and took a photo of them. I quick selected and cut it out. I raised the contrast and lowered the brightness and the opacity. I used the lighten mode on them and stacked them on the sides to give the photo a frame. I am very happy with my results. I find a peace in this piece of artwork. I learned from this, that you really have to put yourself into a place where you can imagine your dreams and fantasies coming to life.
